Jordanians are one of the most hospitable and loving beings towards tourists but it’s always best to ensure you have a pleasant experience and are well acquainted with the customs of the land before you travel.

Choice of Clothing

Even though the kingdom of Jordan is quite liberal towards other cultures and western attire, bear in mind that it is a Muslim country so avoid packing clothing that may be too revealing.

Weather

Winters are short-lived in this land with temperatures dropping to a maximum of 5-10°C. Summers are brutal with insane hot weather and random sandstorms. If you’re not eager to hit the beach and wish to see the Jordanian landscape in its prime, we advise a trip in spring.

Language

Arabic is the official language of Jordan however you will have no hard time communicating with locals in English. However, it is advisable to learn some basic Arabic phrases to ease interactions.

Currency

The locals trade in Jordanian Dinar (JD) available in 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 JD bank notes.
